Albert H. “Sonny” Small, Jr.

Founder and Managing Member

About Albert

Mr. Small is the founder and president of Renaissance Centro as well as the former Renaissance Housing Corp., one of Washington, DC’s most highly recognized developers and home builders. Renaissance Housing Corp. received the coveted America’s Best Builder Award from the National Association of Home Builders and Builder Magazine, and earned recognition as Builder of the Year, as well as over 30 other industry awards.

During his more than 20 years at Renaissance Housing Corp., the firm achieved sales revenue in excess of $2 billion on over 3,500 homes and lots. In 2005, Renaissance Housing Corp. was sold to WCI Communities, and Mr. Small turned his attention to the larger scale commercial projects that Renaissance Centro has been undertaking.

Mr. Small has a bachelor’s degree in economics from Tulane University and a master’s degree in real estate and urban development from American University. He is a board member of Tulane University, a director of Griffin Land & Nurseries, and is active in YPO, civic boards and philanthropic organizations.

Douglas Erdman

About Douglas

Mr. Erdman simultaneously serves as a principal of Renaissance Centro and president of Community Realty Company, Inc., a full-service property management, leasing and sales organization specializing in commercial office, retail and multi-family assets, and providing services to a portfolio of properties which has included tens of thousands of multi-family units and several million square feet of office space.

At Renaissance Centro, Mr. Erdman is instrumental in the development of a wide array of projects, including luxury condominiums, market-rate rental apartments, active adult rental apartments, general and medical office buildings, and retail centers. He has also been a key principal in the acquisition, repositioning and renovation of many notable properties.

Mr. Erdman has a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Towson University and has completed numerous post-graduate courses and programs in real estate urban development. Mr. Erdman holds a real estate broker’s license in Maryland, Virginia and Washington, DC, and is a Certified Property Manager®. He is very active in several philanthropic and professional organizations, including ULI.
